On Friday, Clarksville Fire Rescue held a swearing-in ceremony for 13 new firefighters at the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center.
Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts administered the oath to the new firefighters in front of family and friends.
After the oath, family members had the honor of pinning the badges on the uniforms and presenting the new helmets to the firefighters.
The new firefighters from Recruit Class 02-22 are Travis Grisier, Alan Graves, Luke Bellar, Alexander Burich, Rashaud Hugley, Henry Clayton, Terrance Scott, Davis Russ, Victor Guzman, Thomas Hebel, Adam Mangiacapra, Cesar Romero and Taylor Anderson.
“Recruit Class 02-22 had a host of challenges, from issues with training locations, freezing weather, and increased training standards, to name a few,” said Fire Chief Freddie Montgomery Jr. “As CFR continues to push through growing pains and changes, the ability of these newly sworn firefighters to adapt and overcome those challenges serves as a reminder of the value they are bringing to our ranks. I’m proud of their progress, I’m proud of all 13 of them, and I’m proud to call them Clarksville Fire Rescues newest firefighters!”
All of the firefighters have received their assignments and will soon be responding to calls throughout the city.
