The old Demo’s restaurant building at 120 S. Hampton Place next to Buffalo Wild Wings in Clarksville in under renovation and will open in the spring as a Drake’s restaurant, with locations already in Franklin, Chattanooga, Knoxville and Bristol.
Drake’s is touted as, “a restaurant that loves beer, and a bar that loves food,” according to Leela Atchison, marketing director for Blue Grass Hospitality that operates several different chains from its Lexington, Kentucky home office.
“Drake’s specializes in beer, burgers and sushi,” Atchison said in an email. “We don’t have an estimated opening date yet but are hoping to open in the second quarter.”
Chili, steaks and salad will also be offered on the menu.
The Clarksville Drake’s restaurant will employ about 150 people, according to Atchison.
“Clarksville fits in regionally with our other Drake’s locations, and we’re excited to join the local community,” Atchison said.
The about 6,500-square-feet building is renovated by Knoebel Construction out of Chesterfield, Missouri, according to the building permit on file with the city of Clarksville.
Montgomery County Register of Deeds Connnie Gunnett said BHG real estate bought the property in June 2019 for just more than $1.8 million from Peter J. Demos.
Drake’s also has restaurants in other states, including Kentucky, North Carolina, Indiana, Illinois and Alabama. To find a location or to view the menu, visit drakescomeplay.com/menustk.
