The Friends of the Library in-person used book sales were canceled this year, but it didn’t stop continuation of the community event

This year, patrons can buy specially curated book and video collections for $11 at

Items in each bag were selected by genre, for example, murder mysteries, science fiction or children’s videos. Each curated collection will contain at least eight items and will include the friends tote bag to keep.

Other categories include travel, cooking, history, DIY, easy readers and more.

When a bag is bought online through Eventbrite, print off the ticket that is produced and bring it to the library. A staff member will then allow the patron to select from available categories to receive a bag. Patrons will not be able to swap out items in the bag.

The Friends of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Library is a nonprofit organization that consists of people working together to support the local library. Each bag sold will help make sure the needs of the public library are met. The friends help supplement the cost of many of the library's programs, including summer reading. Funds raised are also used to buy equipment that helps the library stay on the cutting edge and provide the latest technology to the patrons.
