Clarksville police’s special operations homicide detectives charged a couple’s adopted son in the 2010 killing of William and Ina Campbell.
A Montgomery County grand jury indicted William Roger Campbell, 63, with two counts of first-degree murder in the case.
Lowndes County, Georgia sheriff’s deputies served the indictments June 21 to Campbell at his home. Campbell was extradited to Clarksville on July 11 and booked in at the Montgomery County Jail.
On Jan. 29, 2010 just before 7 p.m., Clarksville police officers went to 201 Jackson Road in Clarksville. When they arrived, officers found the bodies of 82-year-old William Campbell and his wife, 81-year-old Ina Campbell, in their beds each with a single gunshot wound to the head.
