Clarksville police continued to search for a suspect involved in an attempted armed robbery early Feb. 22 during which a convenience store employee was shot.

The incident happened at 1:40 a.m. at the Exxon in the 200 block of Dover Road. Paramedics took the unidentified 40-year-old man who was shot to an area hospital. Police said his condition was unknown. It’s also not known whether the suspect left on foot or on a vehicle.

Police described the suspect as an African-American man who wore all black clothing, a red face covering, purple gloves and was armed with a black handgun.

Police urged residents near the Fritz Circle, Darlene Drive and Bennett Drive areas to check their home video surveillance from Feb. 22 between 1-2 a.m. for anything that could possibly aid in the investigation.
