Clarksville firefighters were dispatched to an apartment fire March 31 at 7:30 p.m. at 124 Ballygar Drive in Sango.
When Battalion 3 firefighters from Station 2, 3 and 4 got to the complex, they said smoke and flames showed.
The building contained five apartments and was evacuated, according to assistant chief Michael Rios.
“Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control,” Rios said. “No injuries were reported at the scene.”
Rios said when the tenant came home after getting some dinner, he opened the door, and smoke billowed out of the apartment.
Two people who live in the apartment were displaced due to the damage.
The family cat did not survive the fire, Rios said.
American Red Cross volunteers were called to assist the family.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
