Federal money designated in the COVID-19 Rent Relief Act of 2020 is available to support renters who struggle to pay rent, utilities or other home energy costs because of lost wages and income as a result of the pandemic.

Tennessee Housing Development Agency administers the COVID-19 rent relief program for most of Tennessee, including Clarksville and Montgomery County. THDA’s rent relief call Center is live via phone and online and available to help people who have questions regarding the program, eligibility and documentation.

The number to call is 844-500-1112, and the center’s hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., or visit thda.org/help-for-renters-section-8/covidrentrelief.

The THDA COVID-19 rent relief application portal went live March 1. Information on how to apply is available at the call center and website.

Tennessee Housing Development Agency may be reached at 615-815-2200 or at thda.org.
