Two people are dead following an overnight home invasion in Clarksville. Officials say one of the deceased was a resident of the home, the other an intruder, according to a release by the Clarksville Police Department.
Shortly before midnight on Friday, Nov. 15, law enforcement officials say two men entered a home on Dandelion Drive, just north of Tiny Town Road, through a door that was left unlocked.
“There were multiple adults and two children inside of the residence at the time of the home invasion,” the release said. “At some point, an altercation took place with the intruders, shots were fired, resulting in the death of an intruder that was wearing a mask and one of the residents.
Officials say they are not positive about how many people fled following the shooting, prior to the arrival of officers, but the resident and the intruder were both pronounced dead at the scene.
This is early in the investigation, but officials say there are no additional suspect descriptions or information available at this point.
No one else in the residence sustained injuries, the release said.
