A motorcycle rider died from his injuries after a Jeep hit him while riding New Year’s Day in Clarksville.
A Jeep hit Harold Perry, 51, while riding on Fort Campbell Boulevard near the intersection of Quin Lane, about a half-mile south of 101st Airborne Division Parkway.
Arial Hummel, 38, who was initially charged with driving under the influence, currently faces vehicular homicide charges in the case.
Perry died from his injuries Jan. 7, according to police.
Hummel drove south in a Jeep Wrangler at about 10 p.m. on Fort Campbell Boulevard, turned left onto private property and crossed into the path of Perry’s motorcycle, according to Clarksville police.
It was the first fatal wreck in Clarksville in 2020.
LifeFlight paramedics took Perry in critical condition to a Nashville hospital, where he died a week later.
In addition to vehicular homicide, police also charged Hummel with failure to yield the right of way resulting in death.
