Carla Joy Bell, 66, of Clarksville passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020, at her residence.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, and again on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Carla entered into this life on January 19, 1953, in Columbus, OH to Carl Elwood Bell and Joyce Lee Griffin Bell Coughlin. She served in the U.S. Army (WAC) and participated in Operation 101 in Germany during the Cold War. Following her military service Carla went on to receive a master’s degree in social work and became Clarksville’s second licensed clinical social worker. She worked as a supervisor at Ft. Campbell for the Wounded Warrior Battilon. She also worked as an adjunct professor in APSU’s department of Social Work. Carla dedicated her life as an advocate for animals, women, and children in need. She was a founding member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and belonged to Bobbin Lace Guild.
She is preceded in death by her father, and brothers, Gary Franklin Bell, David Lee Bell, and Steven Elwood Bell.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her sister, Cathy Bell; cousin, Vickie Butler; niece, Juanita Dufour; nephews, David Lee Bell, Aaron Steven Bell, Tatton Dufour, David Dufour, Harold Dufour; great-niece, Amber Dufour; and great-nephews, Conner Dufour, Chris Dufour, and Colton Dufour.
