This is probably going to be the week that the weather pattern begins to transition to more of what we would expect at this time of year.
After temperatures in the 60s and even a few 70-degree readings during Christmas week, highs will mostly be in the 50s this week and even colder weather expected after Jan. 6.
I think we are in for a wild ride in January because of the weather pattern that is unfolding across the country. I wouldn’t be surprised if we had periods of rain and thunderstorms and mild weather in Middle Tennessee as well as some periods of very cold air and snow.
The jet stream is in what we call a long-wave pattern, meaning it goes way up north and we get warmer air, but then it can drop way down to the south and we get Arctic air.
