Scriptures & Sawdust Handmade Gifts and Décor is a unique craft marketplace, offering beautiful merchandise, all made by hand, crafted by local artisans. Owner Ashlynn Micheal, herself a local artist and sign maker, wanted to offer patrons a more personalized shopping experience.
No matter what goods you see at Scriptures & Sawdust, all the items are handcrafted or homemade. The retail space plays host to more than 80 artisans from all across Clarksville and the surrounding areas, giving craftspeople a place to showcase their wares. Unique gifts, specialty décor items and all original pieces are a staple at Scriptures & Sawdust.
Hand-poured candles and soaps, beautifully bohemian wall hangings, hand-crafted jewelry, locally designed artworks and intricately carved woodworks are just a handful of the items that can be found at the crafter’s mercantile. The shelves are lined with treasures and tabletops adorned with eclectic pieces that are each distinctive and special. If you visit the café area at the shop, customers can find all kinds of edible delights like local honey, homemade salsas, jellies and jams, cocoa bombs and more.
Scriptures & Sawdust holds monthly events, including workshops that offer a wide range of classes. You can find classes such as candle making, metal stamping or making your own bath bombs and soaps. There is limited space per class, and they must be booked in advance. The workshops are updated monthly and fill up quickly, so keep up with them on Facebook, as it posts updates frequently.
Starting in March, Scriptures & Sawdust will again hold the Clarksville Makers Market, an outdoor marketplace that runs monthly from the beginning of spring until December. Here, you can find local crafting experts holding workshops, all kinds of handmade crafts for sale, plus live music, fantastic food and seasonal surprises such as picture booths or petting zoos. The events are all weather permitting.
Scriptures & Sawdust is a shopper’s dream, especially when looking for just the right thing to give as a gift or to get something special for yourself. If you want to shop local and support Clarksville area businesses, this is a great place to start. It is at 260 B Needmore Road and open Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. You can follow them on Facebook or Instagram.
