The Choppin’ Block is a full-service butcher shop at 2212 Madison Street and has served the Clarksville area for well more than a decade.

Not only will you find high-quality beef, chicken and pork for sale here, not to mention a vast selection of fresh cheeses and homemade pies that are made in-house daily, but the Choppin’ Block serves as a quaint eatery, as well.

Opening at 6 a.m., with the grill closing at 3 p.m. daily, the Choppin’ Block has a delectable breakfast and lunch menu and daily lunch specials like the ribeye sandwich or meatloaf on Tuesdays or the roast beef and gravy on Thursdays.

Breakfast at the Choppin’ Block was a lovely experience, with delicious food at exceptional prices and impeccable service. Front manager Jessica Williams waited on me. She patiently answered all of my questions and gave friendly service at every turn.

I enjoyed a BLT bagel, lightly toasted and piled high with lettuce, tomatoes and Monterey Jack cheese with extra-crispy bacon. I was actually asked how I wanted my bacon done, crispy or not as done, which was a first for me. I loved they gave me a preference.

The Choppin’ Block has an extensive breakfast menu with all the traditional fare, like biscuits and gravy, pancakes, French toast and omelets, just to name a few. With amazing price points and so much to choose from, you can create a fully customizable American-style breakfast with as much or as little as you like.

After enjoying a quiet breakfast on my own, I ordered to-go meals for the family. One of the breakfast plates gives you a choice of meat, two eggs and toast for just $4. There are also breakfast sandwiches like the BLT for $3.50.

The lunch menu at the Choppin’ Block was just as impressive, with daily lunch specials featured during the week. House specialties are highlighted on the menu, as well, like the grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich or the buffalo sliders. A full sandwich menu is also available, with everything from cheeseburgers to classics like the club or the Cuban. And it has piping-hot twice-baked potatoes just dripping with cheddar cheese that are made daily to fully complete an amazing lunch experience.

The Choppin’ Block has delicious food at fantastic prices, with a friendly atmosphere just makes you want to sit a spell, enjoy some coffee, read the news and have fantastic meal while you’re there.

The Choppin’ Block is open Mondays through Fridays from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., Saturdays from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., and it’s closed on Sundays. The grill closes at 3 p.m., but the butcher shop is open until 6 p.m.
