With the end of the unprecedented 2021 spring football season comes a new flood of awards for Austin Peay State players.

After winning the preseason award, wide receiver DeAngelo Wilson was named OVC Offensive Player of the Year. His quarterback, Draylen Ellis, earned OVC co-Freshman of the Year honors. Four Governors were named to the All-OVC First Team: Wilson, Kordell Jackson, Bucky Williams and Jack McDonald.

Colby McKee, Seth Johnson and Robert Holmes were named to the conference’s second team. Brian Snead and Ellis each earned spots on the conference’s All-Newcomer team.

Additionally, three Governors were named finalists for national awards. Wilson is a finalist for the Walter Payton Award, Jackson the Buck Buchanan Award and Ellis the Jerry Rice Award. All three are among 16 finalists for the awards.
