Twelve Austin Peay tennis players were honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as scholar athletes, the school announced on Monday.
Six men -- Christian Edison, Jacob Lorino, Anton Damberg, Julius Gold, Oliver Andersson and Thiago Nogueria -- posted GPAs of 3.50 or higher to earn the recognition.
Six women -- Sarah Heckel, Martina Paladini-Jennings, Fabienne Schmidt, Ana Albertson, Danielle Morris and Honoka Nakanishi -- did the same.
2020 marks the fourth straight year that both the men’s and women’s tennis teams earned ITA All-Academic Honors. The men finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.92 and the women finished at 3.77.
In honoring the athletes, Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison tweeted: “The ‘Total Gov’ concept at work! So proud of these student athletes! #SeeRed.”
