Former Gov Terry Taylor dons an Indiana Pacers jersey.

The next chapter of Terry Taylor’s basketball career will come wearing colors that Austin Peay fans have learned to despise.

Fortunately for Clarksvillians, the blue and yellow that their former star player will be wearing belong not to the Murray State Racers, but to the Indiana Pacers after the franchise signed Taylor to a contract following the 2021 NBA Draft.

Like many others, Taylor was not selected with one of the 60 picks on Thursday, July 29 — but he was one of the fortunate few to be given a chance to live out his NBA dream by signing with a pro squad afterward.

Taylor will join players with NBA experience such as Goga Bitadze, Cassius Stanley and Jordan Bone along with 2021 first-round pick Chris Duarte in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas beginning on Aug. 8.
