After announcing his intentions to enter the NBA Draft on April 13, Austin Peay State guard Jordyn Adams has officially withdrawn and will return to Clarksville for his sophomore season.

The decision became official on May 9.

During a conference call following Adams’ declaration to enter the draft, he noted that he would officially enter the NBA if he was given a first-round grade by league scouting departments and would return to school if given lower projections. The decision to return indicates that his projection fell short of the first round.

Adams was named OVC Freshman of the Year and was a First Team All-Conference honoree for the 2019-20 season, averaging 17.4 points per game.

Recent rule changes allow college prospects to enter their names into the draft while giving them a chance to back out whether they hire an agent or not. Adams did not hire an agent.

He noted that he had received early interest from the Memphis Grizzlies and Cleveland Cavaliers shortly after declaring.

Adams will look to build on his strong individual campaign by helping take the Governors to a potential OVC championship and the NCAA tournament. The Govs reached the OVC semifinals as the No. 3 seed in 2020 but fell to the Murray State Racers.
