Clarksville dominated Kenwood, 57-7, on Thursday night.
Clarksville opened the scoring on the first drive of the game as Seth Phillips punched the ball in from the 1-yard line to give the Wildcats an early lead.
Head coach Isaac Shelby decided to try an onside kick after the score, which worked, and the Wildcats got the ball back on their 49-yard line. It wasn’t long until Colby Cook found the end zone to give Clarksville a 14-0 lead.
The Wildcats found the end zone one more time before the end of the first quarter.
With 8:15 left in the first half, the Wildcats ramped up the score more to give Clarksville a 28-0 lead over the Knights.
Quantae Hicks found the end zone soon after to give Clarksville a 35-0 with 6:26 left in the first half.
By the end of the first half, the score was 50-0 in favor of Clarksville.
Kenwood’s Taquin Mccullen scored a touchdown for the Knights in the second half, which cut the Clarksville lead to 50-7 in the third quarter.

Christopher Bagatin found the back of the end zone for the Wildcats again in the third to give the game its final score.
With the win Clarksville, improved to 4-4 on the season, and the Knights fell to 2-6 overall.
“I thought the effort was good,” Shelby said. “Our game plan was good. Kenwood is a good team. We’ve got a lot ahead of us; we have to take care of business.”
Kenwood coach Les Greer said his team could learn from the loss.
“We had things there tonight. We moved the ball; we have to execute,” Greer said. “Come to practice to work on cleaning up that stuff; it’s all in relation to practice.”
