A Clarksville man has been arrested in connection with the January killing of a two-month-old baby, who police say died at the hands of the child’s mother.
Marquitis Ridley, 20, was arrested on Saturday, Sept. 11, and charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect of the child.
In April, Whitney Brown, 19, also of Clarksville, was charged with the baby’s murder, as reported by Main Street Clarksville.
Both suspects were named in a five-count indictment handed down by a Montgomery County grand jury in April.
In January, police said the baby was unresponsive from a head injury and transported to Tennova Healthcare.
The child was transported via LifeFlight to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville where the baby died three days later.
Ridley’s address is the same as Brown’s, according to jail records.
The indictment said both Brown and Ridley unlawfully, intentionally or knowingly did neglect the child in such a manner as to inflict serious bodily injury.
Two of the counts name Brown as the baby’s killer. She also faces child abuse and child neglect charges.
